Our stellar undergraduate, Rasheedah Geneste, presented her findings from the Mother-Child Dynamics Study at the 11th Black Doctoral Network Conference in Atlanta, Georgia. Her poster won the best undergraduate poster award. Congratulations, Rasheedah!! 👏

Congratulations, Rasheedah!
Congratulations to our outstanding undergraduate research assistant, Rasheedah Geneste, for being selected as a McNair Scholar! As part of this scholarship, Rasheedah will examine the relations between Black caregivers’ emotional well-being, their use of different emotion socialization strategies, and whether these strategies promote or hinder adolescents’ emotional well-being. In addition, she will attend summer classes and workshops that will prepare her for graduate school. Rasheedah’s long-term goal is to complete her graduate studies in Clinical or Counseling Psychology and open a mental health clinic that offers culturally competent therapeutic services to Black families and others. Congratulations to our stellar undergraduate research assistant, Krita Patel, for being selected as a UMD Summer Scholar! As a key member of the MCD project, Krita will work with Dr. Zeytinoglu on her independent project examining the moderating role of child temperament in the relation between mothers' characteristics and children's fear learning.
